Whether you’re an organizer, designer, researcher, writer, or web expert, ICAN offers meaningful ways to contribute to pro-Israel advocacy, mobilize communities, and shape public policy. Join a growing network of volunteers working at the intersection of civic action, strategic communication, and grassroots organizing.

ICAN volunteers are primarily considered in California, Nevada, Massachusetts, Washington State, and Washington D.C.  Some roles may be remote, while others may involve in-person participation at events or organizing activities. If you’re based in one of these regions—or want to help us grow our presence there—we’d love to hear from you.

Communications & Content Volunteer

Join ICAN’s communications team to create high-impact content that drives advocacy, defends Israel, and mobilizes civic action nationwide. This role combines creative storytelling, design, and digital execution to power our campaigns, events, and rapid response efforts.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create compelling graphics, videos, and social media content

  • Draft emails, alerts, and campaign landing pages

  • Help maintain and update WordPress/Elementor pages

  • Contribute to messaging during rapid response campaigns

  • Support branding and visual consistency across ICAN initiatives

What You’ll Learn:

  • Real-world experience in political communication and advocacy

  • Best practices in rapid response and multi-channel digital strategy

  • Collaboration with policy and media professionals on national campaigns

  • Portfolio-ready projects with public-facing impact

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro), or CapCut; basic familiarity with WordPress and Elementor; strong writing and editing skills in either English or Hebrew; ability to meet tight deadlines and work collaboratively under pressure.

Policy & Research Volunteer

Support ICAN’s policy agenda by helping track legislation, analyze emerging issues, and prepare materials that inform decision-makers and the public. This role is ideal for volunteers who want to be directly involved in the mechanics of state and federal advocacy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Monitor and track legislation at the state and national levels

  • Assist in preparing briefing memos and policy summaries

  • Help develop research for campaigns, hearings, and public commentary

  • Support fact-checking, citations, and source gathering

  • Collaborate with program staff on special projects tied to our 6+1 policy priorities

What You’ll Learn:

  • How policy becomes advocacy: From bill tracking to campaign strategy

  • Legislative research techniques and tools

  • Issue framing and how policy positions are communicated

  • Practical experience working on real-time state and federal legislation

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong research and writing skills; ability to analyze legislative language; familiarity with Google Workspace and tracking tools (e.g., Excel, Sheets, Airtable); ability to follow direction and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented environment.

Grassroots Engagement Volunteer

Help ICAN mobilize supporters, activate local communities, and build political momentum behind our advocacy campaigns. This role is central to turning public sentiment into meaningful action through outreach, events, and civic engagement.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in coordinating volunteer outreach and follow-up

  • Help organize local events, advocacy days, and online actions

  • Engage with community members, partners, and stakeholders

  • Track supporter engagement and prepare basic reports

  • Support campaign launches and petitions at the local or state level

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to run grassroots organizing efforts in a fast-moving civic environment

  • Volunteer and supporter engagement strategies

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Data & Research Support Volunteer

Support ICAN’s advocacy and organizing efforts behind the scenes by maintaining data systems, tracking key metrics, and assisting with information management. This role is ideal for detail-oriented volunteers who want to contribute through organization, accuracy, and analytical support.

What You’ll Do:

  • Enter and maintain supporter and campaign data

  • Help organize legislative and community contact lists

  • Assist with formatting reports, petitions, and outreach records

  • Track action alert participation, volunteer signups, and email engagement

  • Support database-related needs for campaigns and policy tracking

What You’ll Learn:

  • Best practices for data handling in civic campaigns

  • How metrics shape strategy and engagement

  • Hands-on experience with real campaign infrastructure

  • The role of data in grassroots and policy advocacy

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel; experience with Airtable, Salesforce, or CRM tools is a plus; attention to detail; ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
