Retreat Speakers
A transformative retreat equipping teachers to challenge harmful Middle East narratives, build critical thinking, and inspire respectful, fact-based dialogue. Learn from personal stories of change and gain tools to help students question social media content.
Once influenced by extremist views, Loay now stands as a powerful voice for peace and understanding. Through his global advocacy, he challenges harmful narratives and inspires communities to embrace coexistence. His story offers educators a compelling model for promoting empathy, dialogue, and resilience in the face of hate.
Brianna, a transgender advocate and educator, brings bold, personal insight into LGBTQ issues across the Middle East. Her sessions focus on helping teachers create inclusive classrooms where students learn to think critically, respect differences, and engage with compassion around identity and culture.
Aia is a certified self-defense instructor and speaker dedicated to personal and community empowerment. Her workshops blend physical training with motivational tools to help educators and students build confidence, manage stress, and foster inner strength. She equips participants with practical strategies to lead with purpose and courage.
Radicalization rarely begins with something dramatic. Sometimes, it starts with a meme, a comment, or a quiet shift in behavior. This session will help educators recognize the early red flags, understand what may be driving them, and most importantly-how to respond with empathy, clarity, and impact. What to do-and what not to do-when it shows up in your classroom. Dr. Miri Bar-Halpern is a Harvard-affiliated trauma psychologist who helps people find clarity, strength, and healing after crisis.
Arno Michaelis was a neo-Nazi. But then-something shook his world. Today, Arno is an international speaker and educator who works with teachers and students to stop radicalization before it starts. Make no mistake-our students are vulnerable. Hate reaches them wrapped, polished, and spread across social media. It’s tempting. It’s addictive. And it’s real. Come hear a story you’ll never forget-from someone who lived it. And learn how to build the tools your students need to stand against it.

FAQ
Who are the speakers, and what topics will you learn?
Each event will feature carefully chosen, engaging speakers who promote excellence and a love of learning. You will explore a diverse range of topics and perspectives — including art, archaeology, literature, history, groundbreaking technology, inspiring inventions, advanced medicine, and much more. What we truly value is the quality of these speakers — their expertise, professionalism, and the inspiration they bring to everyone who listens to them.
What is the purpose of the retreat?
At a time of rising antisemitism and violence, we are choosing to strengthen light and love. Our goal is to empower teachers with knowledge about Israel, because we believe ignorance breeds hatred. We also encourage critical and creative thinking, bringing fresh, out-of-the-box ideas to spark new inspiration and meaningful conversations.
