Statement Condemning Hamas’s Propaganda Display During Hostage Remains Transfer and Failure to Return Shiri

The Israeli-American Civic Action Network condemns Hamas’s grotesque and obscene propaganda stunt during the February 20, 2025, transfer of the remains of murdered hostages in Khan Younis.

What should have been a solemn moment to return the remains of murdered Israelis was turned into a vile spectacle—broadcast live by Al Jazeera, the Qatari state-funded mouthpiece for terrorism. Hamas paraded black coffins under banners depicting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a vampire, peddling antisemitic lies and blood libel while accusing Israel of war crimes. This was not a dignified transfer—it was psychological warfare and terrorism by other means.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the bodies of Ariel Bibas, Kfir Bibas, and Oded Lifshitz were among those returned. The body of Shiri Bibas was not. An appalling revelation came with the IDF’s confirmation that Ariel and Kfir—innocent children kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023—were brutally murdered by Hamas one month into their captivity.

This is the face of Hamas: child killers, hostage takers, and perpetrators of genocide against Israeli families. They violated ceasefire agreements, desecrated the dead, tortured the living, and weaponized grief for their propaganda machine.

ICAN's Israeli-American and pro-Israel communities and our allies demand that Hamas be held accountable—fully and without delay.

Every remaining hostage must be released immediately and unconditionally. The world must stop legitimizing Hamas's terror, and the U.S. must stand firmly with Israel as it defends its citizens from this evil.

ICAN stands with the families of the victims, with the people of Israel, and with every American who rejects terrorism and antisemitism. Hamas’s crimes must be confronted—now.
