ICAN Celebrates the Appointment of Sigal Chattah as Interim United States Attorney for the District of Nevada

The Israeli-American Civic Action Network (ICAN) proudly congratulates Sigal Chattah on her appointment as Interim United States Attorney for the District of Nevada, and expresses gratitude to President Trump and Attorney General Bondi for an outstanding choice.
A longtime civil rights attorney, public servant, and founding leader of ICAN Nevada, Sigal Chattah has been a trailblazer in advancing justice, combating antisemitism, and elevating civic engagement across Nevada.
Appointed on March 28, 2025, Chattah will begin serving as the state’s top federal law enforcement official on April 1. In this role, she will lead the enforcement of federal laws and oversee civil and criminal prosecutions across Nevada, ensuring that the interests of justice are upheld on behalf of all Nevadans.

Sigal Chattah served as the founding chairwoman of ICAN Nevada, where she led efforts to pass landmark Holocaust and genocide education legislation and partnered with communities and law enforcement to counter bigotry and antisemitism. Her decades of legal experience and her unwavering commitment to civil liberties and justice make her uniquely qualified for this new role.

As a legal professional with over 20 years of experience, Chattah has built a distinguished career defending constitutional rights and upholding the rule of law. She has served as a Las Vegas Planning Commissioner, chaired attorney disciplinary panels for the Nevada State Bar, and led impactful litigation that shaped civil liberties policy statewide.
The role of the U.S. Attorney is one of immense responsibility—enforcing federal law, protecting civil rights, and upholding the public trust. ICAN believes Chattah’s professional integrity, proven leadership, and deep roots in the Nevada legal community make her an exceptional choice.
