ICAN Applauds U.S. Strike on Iran’s Nuclear Facilities

The Israeli-American Civic Action Network (ICAN) strongly supports the United States' military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities, conducted on June 21, 2025. This decisive action, which targeted key sites within Iran’s illegal nuclear weapons program, including the fortified Fordow enrichment plant, was a necessary and justified response to an urgent global threat.

For years, Iran has repeatedly violated international agreements while enriching uranium to weapons-grade levels, obstructing inspectors, and hiding critical infrastructure. Recent findings by the International Atomic Energy Agency revealed uranium enriched up to 84%—just below weapons-grade—and sufficient stockpiles to produce multiple nuclear warheads. Iran’s pattern of deception and escalation left the United States no choice but to act decisively to enforce the global nonproliferation norm and prevent the emergence of a nuclear-armed terrorist state.

The precision strikes inflicted severe damage to Iran’s nuclear program and sent a clear message: the United States will not allow the Islamic Republic to achieve a nuclear weapons capability. American leaders made clear this was a narrowly focused operation—not an open-ended war—and no further strikes are planned unless provoked. This demonstrates strategic clarity and moral restraint.

The action follows Iran’s growing campaign of terror across the region. Tehran remains the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, funding and directing Hamas, Hezbollah, and other armed proxies. The October 7 massacre of Israeli civilians—planned and executed with Iran’s support—marked a turning point. That attack, and Iran’s continued threats to Israel’s existence, demanded a firm and unambiguous response.

This strike also reflects the enduring strength of the U.S.-Israel alliance. The United States and Israel acted in coordination, showcasing the power of joint resolve in the face of shared threats. It reinforced that Israel’s security is non-negotiable, and that any regime seeking its destruction will be met with forceful deterrence.

ICAN praises President Trump and his administration for taking bold, necessary action to confront the Iranian threat. We commend our military and intelligence professionals for the precision and professionalism they brought to this operation. The strike was not only a military success—it was a reaffirmation of American leadership, credibility, and commitment to peace through strength.

The Iranian regime alone bears responsibility for the consequences of its nuclear escalation and its continued sponsorship of terrorism. We urge the international community to support further measures—diplomatic or military—to prevent Iran from rebuilding its program. And we call on Congress to remain united in ensuring Iran never achieves a nuclear weapon.
